SSonia is a Registered Nurse First Surgical Assistant (RNFSA) at the McIndoe Clinic and has been working in private ENT practice since 2010. She also practices as a perioperative nurse at Grace Hospital in Tauranga.
Sonia gained her Bachelor of Nursing degree in 2001 at Waiariki Institute of Technology in Rotorua. She spent 3 years as a Registered Nurse at the Bay of Plenty District Health board gaining experience in a surgical ward.
Sonia spent a further 2 years in private practice as a Dermatology and appearance medicine nurse Sonia moved onto a nursing research role at the Bay of Plenty Clinic School for 3 years part time while working as a perioperative nurse at Grace Hospital with an interest in Robotic surgery.
In 2010 Sonia moved into ENT practice management and nursing with a special interest in nasal and sinus disorders. In this role she qualified as a Registered Nurse First Surgical Assist from Auckland University. In 2011 Sonia gained a certificate for Advanced Dysport Training and provides clinics for Botox treatment.
In 2020 she obtained a Post Graduate Certificate in Health Sciences and then in 2025 obtained a Post Graduate Diploma in Health Sciences through Auckland University. Sonia is a member of the perioperative nurse’s association and the New Zealand Nurses organisation.
